We immediately see Abby and Leo having a minor fight with Abby calling him disgusting a lot. Leo has a mess and Abby is going to handle it. Abby goes to see Liv and gives her the book proposal to read. Leo has a friend who works in publishing so he sent Leo a copy. Liv thinks that it’s fake but Abby says that its not fake and tells Liv not to look at her and to look over there. Abby then says that Leo is the Dustbuster. Liv says that she will handle it.
Liv goes to see Suzanne Thomas and tells her to shut down her book and destroy it because if not Liv will destroy her. Huck demands immunity from prosecution before going any further but David says that’s not the plan. Eventually, David agrees. When Huck gets to the office Quinn asks where he has been and he says the dentist.
Sue comes into the office and demands 3 million to not publish her book. Sue says, “The power you wield in this town, Olivia, it’s legend. You used to exude it. It came out of every pore. It gave other women a contact high.”- Sue
Sue then insults Liv and leaves but not before introducing herself to Huck. Abby, Cyrus and Fitz are discussing making body cams mandatory for law enforcement. Mellie comes in and tells Cyrus and Abby that she is running for senator of Virginia. Mellie asks Abby if Leo can be her campaign manager but she says that he is busy and is out of the country.
Back at OPA, they are getting details on Sue. She graduated with a degree in chemistry and had a job as a junior program coordinator at the office of radiation and indoor air at the EPA. She was fired a month ago for insubordination. Huck finds Sue’s Land-O-Kink site. Liv then decides that they have to find the rest of the guys in the book so they can help pay the 3 million.
Huck and Quinn are busy making a profile for Colt, a slightly older, 40’s, dark features, good looking and kind of sleazy guy. It’s Charlie. So while Charlie and Sue are talking, Huck is at her apartment looking for the book. Things were going okay until Charlie says that he would use a nail gun on her so then she leaves. Huck finishes scanning the book and then leaves.
Jake and Fitz are in the oval drinking whiskey and talking about Liv. “Mentally, she’s a mess. She carries her gun with her everywhere she goes. Won’t go out at night. Won’t even order takeout. I have no idea how she’s surviving.”- Jake
Fitz then replies that, “not much of a chef.” That’s very nice of you Fitz. I’m sure that you’re not much of a chef either.
Abby is at OPA and is given a copy of the book, while Huck, Quinn and Liv read their own copies. Once they are done they start to identify the guys. They already know that the dustbuster is Leo so now they just have the others to figure out. They get stuck on who the Dr. is but Abby comes in and realizes that it’s his initials. It’s David. David says that it was back when he was substitute teaching and that he needed to feel. Abby calls him disgusting too.
Cyrus visits Liz at the playground, where her daughter is playing. Cyrus reminds her that she works for him and tells her to go to the hill to get votes for the police body cameras.
All the guys are in the conference room at OPA so it’s chaos. Liv tells them that they each need to contribute $175,000. They were about to agree but David says that this is illegal and is extortion and to not to do it. Huck and David meet but David says that if the book comes out he won’t be able to get Huck immunity, he won’t even be able to get him out of a parking ticket.
When Huck gets back to OPA, Quinn confronts him and says that she followed him. They have a brief fight and then Huck tells her to not follow him.
Abby is writing her resignation letter when Leo starts to make fun of her because she has two chapters of sex in the book.
“No, what happens to you happens to me. I’m good at my job, Leo. I am a lion up there. I own that room. I work for it. I give a strong briefing. And they write about that, they cover the news, and there are articles about about how well I do at my job, but they also write about me. If I wear lipstick, I’m dolled up. If I don’t, I’ve let myself go. They wonder if I’m trying to bring dresses back, and they don’t like it that I repeat outfits even though I’m on a government salary. They discuss my hair color. There are anonymous blogs that say I’m too skinny. They have a running joke that I’m on a hunger strike until I can be liberated by the democrats. They also write about you. Every article that comes out about me has your name somewhere in it, because apparently there’s this rule– in order to mention my name, they also have to report to the world that there’s a man who wants me. My work, my accomplishments, my awards– I stand at the most powerful podium in the world, but a story about me ain’t a story unless they can report on the fact that I am the girlfriend of D.C. fixer Leo Bergen. Like it validates me, gives me an identity, a definition. They can’t fathom the concept that my life doesn’t revolve around you. My life doesn’t revolve anywhere near you. It’s horrifying. Property of Leo Bergen….. So, what happens to you, happens to me.”- Abby
Huck, Quinn and Liv decide to look into Sue’s life based off of something that she said when she was there earlier. Abby talks to Cyrus about her resignation and about the book.
Liv is drinking wine when she picks up her copy of the book. We then see her at a restaurant bar, where she meets Russell and tells him that her name is Alex. Liv decides to take him back to her apartment but goes to freshen up first. While in the bathroom she has a panic attack, where she is back in the bathroom when she was kidnapped. After that she runs out through the kitchen.
Huck finds the real reason that Sue was fired so they bring her in. We learn that her old boss, Jim Sanders learned that she was a tiger in the sack and wanted to sleep with her but Sue said no. They are going to file a suit against her old boss and if he doesn’t agree to the terms then they will take him to court. Liv has two interviews lined up for Sue, one at the Washington Post and the other at the National Oceanic and atmospheric administration. Sue is grateful and gives Liv a hug.
Liv is waiting at the park bench when Cyrus comes with a case with $3 million in it. They talk about White House High and Liv tells him that she’s moving forward. Liv is leaving when Cyrus asks what about the case. Liv then realizes that he doesn’t care about Abby and wants the book to use as dirt in the future. Liv leaves.
We learn that Mellie bought a farm in Virginia and Liz wants to be her campaign manager. Huck and Quinn go to Sue’s apartment but when they get there they see that the door is ajar. Sue cries for help so Huck and Quinn come running in. We see Quinn draw a gun and a guy holding a knife. It’s Jim.
Huck makes him leave and Quinn goes to console Sue. Quinn realizes that Huck let him go and moves away from Sue as Huck grabs the knife and slits Sue’s throat. Huck says that he had to because eventually Sue would have talked. They leave.
Quinn pulls the copies of the book out of her bag and says that justice for Sue will come at a cost to Abby and that Abby is family. Huck goes to see David and signs his immunity agreement, while David talks about feeling guilt over nothing. We then see Abby and Leo talking about Sue and the book. Abby especially liked chapter five. Abby tells him to go to the kitchen, get undressed and to get the butter.
Liv puts the copies of the book in her safe. We then see her go back to the restaurant bar where she runs into Russell again. Only this time they make it back to Liv’s apartment. While they are making out Fitz and Jake are having their bro time drinking and discussing Liv. We see them go into her bedroom and Liv closes the door.
